This Month's Biblical Theme Is: Take Root

God’s faithfulness is seen in each of the stories this month. David, Elijah and Daniel were all protected and cared for. Even in exile, Ezekiel prophesied hope for Jerusalem’s restoration, symbolized by dry bones coming to life. Despite Israel’s disobedience, God remained steadfast — guiding, providing and protecting His people. No matter the trial, God is faithful.

David and Saul (1 Samuel 24)

Focus Verses:  Lamentations 3:22-23; Hebrews 10:23; 1 Thessalonians 5:24

Saul, the king of the Israelites, lost favor with God due to his disobedience. God chose David as the next king, igniting Saul’s jealousy. David, Saul’s personal musician, faced danger as Saul tried to kill him. David spared Saul’s life in a cave, proving his loyalty. Saul acknowledged David’s righteousness but continued pursuing him. In the end, Saul died in battle. Despite the challenges, David became the promised king.

Not only was God faithful to make David king, but God also made a covenant, or special promise, with David. He promised that one of David’s future descendants would be the King forever. This promised King was Jesus. God was faithful to send our Rescuer through David’s family.

Why can God be trusted? God is faithful. Everything He says is true. Everything He promises will happen. He loves us and has a perfect plan.

How does God’s faithfulness help us be faithful to Him? Because God can be trusted, we can live life His way. We trust He knows best and that He will always take care of us.

¿Qué quiere Dios que yo sepa sobre Él, y qué significa esto para mi vida?Hágale esta pregunta a su hijo, las respuestas variarán.
